BIO:  Zhonghao Tao, Eric, is a versatile musician skilled in bamboo flute, Western flute, ruan, and shakuhachi. With a deep passion for music and performance, he seeks to blend traditional and contemporary elements, incorporating creative concepts such as cosplay, cross-genre collaboration, and diverse performance venues.

Having previously working as a conductor, he came to the University of Southampton to expand his practice toward management and marketing within the music industry. Eric aims to strengthen his systematic understanding of audience engagement and develop strategies to attract listeners while maintaining artistic integrity.

Currently, he is now working as a Project Manager and Recording Engineer at Beijing Dataocean AI Co. Ltd, where he gained experience in production coordination and audio engineering. His long-term goal is to integrate his artistic and managerial expertise to create innovative, audience-centered musical experiences.

BIO:  Jiayi Wang (aka Calon Janner) is currently a Social Media Specialist at CAVCA. Before joining the University of Southampton, she gained six years of experience in content development and digital marketing within the music industry. During her studies, she expanded her knowledge of the global music industry, including strategies for leveraging analytics to identify target demographics, as well as music publishing, distribution, promotion, and monetization. She supports music licensing and rights management while developing effective digital strategies. Her work bridges artistic innovation with audience engagement, contributing to the sustainable growth of the independent music sector.

CAREER AREA OF INTEREST: Creative Audio Planning and Event Planning Assistant, Fandao Network Technology Ltd

BIO:  Ying Sai Hang Li is a Creative Audio Planning and Event Planning Assistant at Fandao Network Technology Ltd. She graduated in 2024 with an MMus in Musicology from University of Southampton with research interests spanning interdisciplinary approaches to music, politics, and gender.

A skilled percussionist graduated from Shangdong University, she performs on marimba and timpani, integrating performance with scholarly inquiry. Ying furthered her interdisciplinary studies at the University of Southampton, exploring topics such as music and war, and participated in a Welsh National Opera internship, working as a workshop facilitator with multicultural communities. She has also published research with Piano Professional, examining international students’ experiences of teaching and learning piano in the UK.

Her academic contributions include a postgraduate scholarship to present at the British Educational Research Association (BERA) Conference, sharing her work A Feminist Perspective on Music Education in China’s Higher Normal Colleges.

Ying’s work bridges artistic practice, research, and community engagement, emphasizing inclusivity, cultural dialogue, and innovation in music education and event planning.
