BIO: Ying Sai Hang Li is a Creative Audio Planning and Event Planning Assistant at Fandao Network Technology Ltd. She graduated in 2024 with an MMus in Musicology from University of Southampton with research interests spanning interdisciplinary approaches to music, politics, and gender.
A skilled percussionist graduated from Shangdong University, she performs on marimba and timpani, integrating performance with scholarly inquiry. Ying furthered her interdisciplinary studies at the University of Southampton, exploring topics such as music and war, and participated in a Welsh National Opera internship, working as a workshop facilitator with multicultural communities. She has also published research with Piano Professional, examining international students’ experiences of teaching and learning piano in the UK.
Her academic contributions include a postgraduate scholarship to present at the British Educational Research Association (BERA) Conference, sharing her work A Feminist Perspective on Music Education in China’s Higher Normal Colleges.
Ying’s work bridges artistic practice, research, and community engagement, emphasizing inclusivity, cultural dialogue, and innovation in music education and event planning.
