SCARLETT TIANA WHITE

DISCIPLINE: GAMES DESIGN, DIGITAL ARTIST & ILLUSTRATOR

ABOUT:
Scarlett Tiana White is an illustrator and designer currently studying Games Design and Art at WSA. She began her creative journey at college studying Graphic Design and Fine Art; these allowed her to gain a designer's eye and appreciation for classical art mediums.

Her main focus is digital art, constantly exploring new software and techniques. Never tied down by one specific style instead choosing the most suitable one to best communicate the themes and ideas of a project. She is currently in her second year of university, so far her work has been dedicated to storytelling and narrative learning how to convey information visually through her design work. She has had several freelance jobs and most recently been a part of a gallery show at the Winchester School of Art.

SHENGWEI (VIVIAN) ZHAO

DISCIPLINE: GLOBAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

CAREER AREA OF INTEREST: I am passionate about content creation and creative media, particularly in storytelling, visual culture, and interactive experiences. I am most motivated when working on projects that allow me to shape narratives, curate engaging ideas, and connect with audiences through film, and cultural events.

BIO:  Vivian Zhao (Shengwei Zhao) is a postgraduate student from the MA Global Media Management programme at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. She is passionate about storytelling and visual culture, with a particular interest in how small details can reveal larger meanings and connect with audiences.

Her creative practice spans film, games, and art. She directed the short film Five Minutes, which explored suspense and narrative perspective, and carried out a semiotic study of the cooperative game Split Fiction, analysing how players co-create meaning through visual and textual signs. She also developed a calligraphy-based series that combines Chinese traditions with playful contemporary forms such as dice, Tetris, and dominoes, turning a personal passion into an innovative art form that bridges heritage and modern creativity.

Beyond academia, Vivian is dedicated to photography, capturing everyday details as intimate stories. She also served as captain of the women’s table tennis team at Winchester School of Art, representing her university in national competitions across the UK. These experiences strengthened her leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural connection.

She aspires to pursue a career in creative content and media production—across film, advertising, self-media, or event curation—where she can transform cultural insights and personal passion into meaningful creative work.
